The first issue of The Dreamland Chronicles hit stores worldwide in April of 2004 to tremendous reviews from critics and fans alike. Set as a 24 issue series this epic fantasy is unique to comics in that it is being produced to look like a 3D Animated feature.
From script to layout to character designs. From character modeling, to set designs, to lighting. This is truly a comic book series like no other.
The feature film look is due to a team of artists all led by Blue Dream Studio’s founder and The Dreamland Chronicles’ creator Scott Christian Sava.
Scott has assembled a team of artists from all over the world working on designing, modeling, rigging, and texturing each character, environment, and prop in this vast world of Dreamland. Utilizing Blue Dream Studios’ assets and talents from it’s feature film and television division, The Dreamland Chronicles is a cinematic reading experience that is truly breathtaking.
The Story:
Ever since he could remember, Alexander was a dreamer. Every night when he would go to sleep he would enter a world called Dreamland. Nightly he would have adventures with his very best friends, Kiwi the fairy, Paddington Rumblebottom the rock boy, and Nastajia the princess of elves. Together they would fly on winged horses, swim with mermaids, battle nightmare pirates, and chase after one eyed giants.
On his 12th birthday, while in Dreamland Alexander uncovers a lost tomb. Inside he finds a sword, and guarding it…a dragon. The sword is magical, and the Dragon does not want Alexander to leave alive. But before the dragon can kill him, Alexander wakes up.
His screams bring his mother into the room where she finds him in bed…with a necklace and a sword pendant on it. She takes it away…and from that day forward Alexander never dreams again.
8 years later Alexander finds the pendant and travels back to the place of his childhood dreams. Rediscovering this magical world for the first time since his youth he’s meets his childhood friends who are also now grown up.
Soon he is swept up in Nastajia’s quest to save her parents. Traveling from town to town they encounter Mermaids, Dwarves, Centaurs, Skeletons, and so much more. Eventually their quest finds them in far off uncharted lands that are legends even in Dreamland. High above the sky in a floating city they find the true battle that has taken Nastajia’s parents…the war with the Nightmare Realm.
